Best Buy Has Issued A Massive Recall on Air Fryers. Here’s What You Need to Know.
If you are the proud owner of an air fryer from Best Buy, this is for you.
Best Buy Has Issued A Massive Recall on over 700,000 Air Fryers so it’s likely yours is affected in this recall.
According to Best Buy, they are recalling several models of air fryers because they might overheat and pose fire and burn risks.
According to a statement from the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the recall involves Insignia Digital Air Fryers, Insignia Analog Air Fryers, and Insignia Digital Air Fryer Ovens.
Best Buy received 68 reports from U.S. consumers and 36 reports from Canadian consumers of the appliances catching fire, burning or melting.
The products were sold between November 2018 through February 2022 at Best Buy stores and on their website, as well as through eBay and Google. Prices on the air fryers ranged between $30 and $150.
If you want to check to see if your air fryer is part of the recall, Best Buy has a list of affected air fryers available on their website.
Check the bottom of your air fryer for the model number to see if it has been recalled.
If your air fryer is recalled, you will need to complete a form on the Best Buy website and they will send you a box with a prepaid label to return your air fryer.
You will then receive an electronic gift card in the amount greater of the price paid on your purchase receipt or the average sales price in the country of purchase ($50 USD for units purchased in the US and $75 CAD for units purchased in Canada).
This is super important so make sure you spread the word. We don’t want anyone else getting hurt from this!
