People Are Giving Neighbors Colored Paper To Communicate During Quarantine and It Is Genius
This is the BEST trend I have seen in a long time! Neighbors helping neighbors, I love it!
So, the way it works is, you tell everyone in your neighborhood that this is for the elderly and at risk neighbors, and let everyone know to be on the lookout for the colors in the windows.
Then, you give your elderly and at risk neighbors 3 pieces of paper: One Red, One Yellow, and One Green.
They need to be full sheets of paper, so they can be seen from a distance.
The Green sheet of paper means, “I’m okay.” The Yellow sheet of paper means, “I need help.” It could be with groceries or something simple. The red sheet of paper means, “Emergency.”
Have your neighbor start by putting the green sheet of paper in their window.
Tell them you will be watching the window. If they need something simple, like groceries, they change the paper to the yellow sheet.
If they have an emergency, and need immediate assistance, change the sheet of paper to red.
ALSO, leave them your phone number, just in case. Get their phone number too, so you can check in on them from time to time.
