TuffyPacks recently launched a line of Disney themed bulletproof backpacks that had designs such as the Avengers, Princess Jasmine from Aladdin, and Belle from Beauty and the Beast.

But when Disney caught wind of the items, they demanded the company refrain from selling any of the Disney themed bullproof panels.

The reason?

Disney never agreed or authorized these to be mad and if we know one thing about Disney, we know they don’t take it lightly when their copyrighted characters are used in for profit products.

“None of these products were authorized by Disney, and we are demanding that those behind this stop using our characters or our other intellectual property to promote sales of their merchandise.”

Although Disney never approved of these designs, the CEO and founder of TuffyPacks says they obtained the licensed fabric from a supplier to make these.

“Our inserts are black and look kind of tactical and ballistic. We use licensed fabric, to try to make them more kid-friendly.”

The Disney themed bulletproof backpacks have since been taken off the site until the company can figure something else out.

But what do you think? Should Disney have allowed these to be sold? Or, is this idea all around the wrong way to go?
