The day has come!! Disneyland has just announced their plans for reopening and I am so dang excited!
As of today, Disneyland has proposed plans for reopening of the Disney Resort and the Disneyland Park is currently awaiting approval from the State of California. Here is what we know…
According to the Disneyland Parks Blog, the reopening will include 3 separate phases:
- July 9 – Downtown Disney District
- July 17 – Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park
- July 23 – Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel
Of course these dates are ending state and local government approvals.
If approved, the park has plans to help keep adhere to cleaning guidelines as well as social distancing.
The Disneyland Resort will manage attendance through a new theme park reservation system that will require all guests, including Annual Passholders, to obtain a reservation for park entry in advance. Theme park reservations will be subject to availability.Disney Parks Blog
This means that unless you have an annual pass, you will not be able to purchase tickets or visit the park at this time. However, our travel partner Get Away Today has a VERY LIMITED amount of tickets they can sell right now. So, if you want to visit soon, hurry over and get your tickets for visit sometime this year.
At this time, there will also be a temporary pause on new ticket sales and Annual Passport sales and renewals.Disney Parks Blog
As of right now, there will NOT be certain experiences that will draw crowds including parades and nighttime spectaculars.
There WILL be enhanced cleaning, health and safety measures happening throughout the park.
As of right now, there is no word on whether there will be temperature checks, required mask wearing or other saftey measures like we’ve seen happen with Disney World reopening.
Stay tuned because we will let you know when we know more!
