The Haunted Floating Festival has returned to Disney Dreamlight Valley, and this year’s big new mystery is waiting inside a Haunted Mansion. The best part? There are two different dates to remember, because not everything unlocks on day one.
Gameloft’s October 7 announcement confirms the festival runs October 7–31, 2026. Returning puzzles and the first Haunted Mansion puzzles are available October 7. The final mystery and a new Ghost Hunt unlock October 18.
How to enter the Haunted Floating Festival
Open the Plaza portal or use the Event tab to travel to the Haunted Floating Island. Gameloft says to return over the course of the event because new puzzles and rewards become available on different dates. Some puzzles may also require items from your own Valley, so don’t assume a mystery is broken if you cannot finish it immediately.
When do the new Haunted Mansion puzzles unlock?
- October 7: The event opens, returning puzzles are available, and the first Haunted Mansion challenges unlock.
- October 18: The final Haunted Mansion mystery and the Ghost Hunt unlock.
- October 31: The Haunted Floating Festival ends.
That October 18 date is important: there is no reason to spend the first week searching for all ten ghosts, because Gameloft specifically dates the Ghost Hunt to October 18.
How to get the Haunted Key and unlock the Bedroom
For Puzzle 6, Gameloft says to investigate the Haunted Mansion, destroy the correct Lion Statues, open mysterious chests, light the Jack-o’-Lanterns, and follow a ghostly fox. These steps lead to two key fragments. Combine them to craft the Haunted Key, then use it to unlock the Bedroom.
How to solve the Haunted Library puzzle
In Puzzle 7, follow the trail of spooky books and place each one on the correct shelf. Solving the library puzzle rewards you with a Chomping Chest. The official announcement does not specify the exact shelf order.
How to lift the Haunted Mansion curse
For Puzzle 8, use clues throughout the Mansion to solve a combination puzzle, recover the Missing Page and restore the magical book. Finishing this puzzle earns a Decorative Magic Seal.
How does the 10-ghost hunt work?
Starting October 18, look around the festival grounds for 10 ghosts. Photograph them with your in-game camera to make them disappear. According to the official announcement, clearing all ten earns a new furniture reward. Gameloft has not described the exact locations of each ghost in that announcement, so we won’t make up a map.
Where is the Haunted Mansion’s secret basement?
There is also a separate secret: Gameloft says a hidden key leads to a mysterious basement beneath the Haunted Mansion, with another surprise furniture item waiting to be discovered. The announcement doesn’t provide the exact key location or a step-by-step solution. We’ll keep those details separate from the confirmed event rules rather than pretend we’ve completed the puzzle.
Which old puzzles are back?
Returning festival mysteries include a ghostly critter, a combination puzzle, the Terror-rific Tree, a mysterious cauldron, and a haunted armor quiz. Gameloft names the returning rewards as the Clawed Foot Tub, Haunted Festival Dress, Terror-rific Tree, Black Cauldron and Haunted Armor. If you played last year, some parts will look familiar; the Haunted Mansion mystery is the new draw for 2026.
Can you decorate the island or submit DreamSnaps?
No. Gameloft says the island cannot be redecorated in edit mode, and DreamSnaps cannot be submitted on the festival grounds. Some Royal Tools may also be unavailable there, although puzzle-related obstacles still work. When you’re done exploring, use the wishing well or your map to leave.
Don’t confuse this with Trick or Treat
Disney Dreamlight Valley has two seasonal activities with different start dates: this Haunted Floating Festival starts October 7, while the door-to-door Trick or Treat event starts October 14.
