Okay, this is aggressively New England in the best possible way.
Dunkin’ and L.L.Bean are teaming up for the first time, and it is not just one random logo slapped on a sweatshirt. The collaboration rolls out across an entire week with a Dunkin’-covered Bootmobile, a limited-edition cup sleeve, an in-person Boston event, new L.L.Bean x Dunkin’ merch and, yes, free coffee for National Coffee Day.
The Dunkin’ x L.L.Bean rollout starts September 21
The whole thing kicks off September 21, when L.L.Bean’s giant Bootmobile gets a Dunkin’ makeover and starts a road trip from Maine to Boston. It is scheduled to stop at select Dunkin’ restaurants through September 29.
So basically, if you see an enormous Bean Boot driving around New England dressed like Dunkin’, no, you did not hallucinate it before your coffee.
There is a limited Dunkin’ x L.L.Bean cup sleeve
On September 22, which is the first day of fall, guests can get one limited-edition Dunkin’ x L.L.Bean Birdseye Sweater Cup Sleeve with any hot or iced coffee of any size at participating Dunkin’ locations nationwide, while supplies last.
This is exactly the sort of tiny unnecessary thing I immediately understand needing.
Boston gets an early look at the collection
On September 27, L.L.Bean’s Seaport store in Boston at 56 Seaport Blvd. is hosting a Dunkin’ takeover from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with custom donuts, MUNCHKINS® Donut Hole Treats, complimentary Dunkin’ coffee and Refreshers, photo moments and an early chance to shop the collaboration, while supplies last.
The actual Dunkin’ x L.L.Bean merch drops September 29
National Coffee Day is when the first full L.L.Bean x Dunkin’ product collaboration arrives.
The announced collection includes a Dunkin’-inspired Birdseye Sweater for $79.95 and a Boat and Tote for $59.95. Both go on sale September 29 at 10 a.m. ET at LLBean.com/dunkin.
There is also a limited-edition L.L.Bean Coffee Tote for $24.95, which goes on sale September 29 at 10 a.m. ET on DunkinRunsOnMerch.com and at select Dunkin’ locations in Maine, while supplies last.
And Dunkin’ Rewards members can get free coffee
Also on September 29, Dunkin’ Rewards members can get one free medium hot or iced coffee with any purchase through the Dunkin’ app at participating U.S. locations. The offer is single-use per member and excludes Cold Brew and hot espresso beverages.
So, yes. Giant Bootmobile. Tiny sweater cup sleeve. Actual sweater. Boat and Tote. Coffee Tote. Free coffee.
This collaboration makes absolutely ridiculous amounts of sense.
