Apparently the 2026 VMAs did not have enough chaos already, because Dunkin’ sent Pumpkin Spice backstage too.
Yes, Pumpkin Spice — the completely fake, extremely committed “sixth Spice Girl” played by Rachel Dratch — showed up during the show as part of Dunkin’s fall campaign.
And the whole thing is exactly as ridiculous as it sounds.
Pumpkin Spice made her VMA comeback
Dunkin’ says the character appeared in a two-part sketch during the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards.
The joke is that everyone backstage recognizes Rachel Dratch, but absolutely nobody remembers Pumpkin Spice and her allegedly iconic ’90s pop career.
Which, naturally, Pumpkin Spice takes very personally.
She starts reminding people about her supposedly legendary résumé — magazine covers, dance crazes, Y2K hysteria — while staying focused on the one thing she actually came for: a Dunkin’ Pumpkin Spice Latte.
Then Rachel Dratch meets… Rachel Dratch
The bit gets even weirder when Pumpkin Spice finally comes face-to-face with Rachel Dratch herself.
Dunkin’ describes the scene as involving flying vases, a trombone and the phrase “Gourd Power,” which is exactly the level of nonsense this campaign has committed to from the beginning.
Honestly, I respect it.
This is the same “sixth Spice Girl” Dunkin’ introduced earlier this month
If this sounds familiar, it is.
Dunkin’ introduced Pumpkin Spice earlier in September in a campaign that reunited Emma “Baby Spice” Bunton and Geri “Ginger Spice” Halliwell-Horner and revealed that Rachel Dratch’s Pumpkin Spice was supposedly their long-lost sixth bandmate.
We covered that original reveal when it launched, and now Dunkin’ has dragged the bit all the way to the VMAs.
At this point, I am almost afraid to ask where Pumpkin Spice is showing up next.
But also… I absolutely want to know.
