Easy Game Day Tabletop Tailgate Spread

There truly are a few fundamentals that make a great game day spread.

  1. Cute decorations.
  2. Easy yet delicious food.

Let’s start with the decorations…

For starters you want a fun background. We simply used a plastic football table cover. Instead of using it to cover the entire table only, we first pinned it to our wall and then draped it down into the table. It makes a great backdrop but also serves as an easy way to clean the table once all is said and done.

Next, have a fun focal point. We thought it was totally cute to use a mannequin and a dress that looked like a referee but you can even use your favorite team jersey or dress the mannequin in your team colors. It just makes a fun centerpiece.

We then added some football themed confetti and football swirly hanging decorations. Again, both super simple decorative ideas but totally cute.

Once you have your decorations in place, it’s all about the food and the presentation. We found some really cute plastic football themed trays and bowls that were perfect for our spread. We also found a large metal beverage container that looked great. We filled that with some ice and water balls for an easy decorative beverage holder.

As I mentioned, we are all about ease here especially when you are trying to please a crowd. Forget all the prep work involved with making homemade meals and try convenience foods that still offer the same quality and taste you are looking to score. For this part, I headed to my local Walmart and picked up some:

  • Hillshire Farm® Cheddar Lit’l Smokies®
  • Tyson® Any’tizers Hot Wings Bone-in Wings (Buffalo Style)
  • Tyson® Crispy Chicken Stripstyson-products

All of these are super simple to make. You just follow the directions on the packages and in about 20 minutes you have game day food to serve to your guests. I paired our chicken with some ranch and honey mustard dipping sauce.tyson-food I then pair the hot wings with some fresh celery and carrots. For the Hillshire Farm Lit’l Smokies I actually placed a toothpick into each one and then placed them onto a fun football platter for easy snacking. You can even take these one step further and mix in your favorite barbecue sauce (although they taste great on their own). tyson-food2

Other sides such as chips and dip, fruit platters, and even dessert platters can really amp up this display so just have fun with it and make sure it’s the focus (besides the game) of your next party.  All of these and more can be found at your local Walmart making it easy to shop for too!

Tyson Foods are great because they offer the convenience you need for game day but they are also a total crowd pleaser. Aside from the items I purchased (shown above) they have so many varieties available that your tailgate spread can be an endless supply of delicious foods. You can find the Tyson Foods available in the refrigerated and frozen foods aisle. I actually found an end cap freezer filled with Tyson Foods that were just what I needed. It made shopping so easy (I love when that happens).
