Well, it happened.

Elon Musk is about to be the new proud owner of Twitter and he will pay a whopping $44 Billion to acquire it.

Twitter’s executive board has accepted Elon Musk’s offer to buy the social media network just weeks after his offering.

You may be wondering why a Billionaire like Elon would want a social media network but he has made it clear, he wants a place for free speech.

In a press release, Elon said:

“Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated”

He continued:

“I also want to make Twitter better than ever by enhancing the product with new features, making the algorithms open source to increase trust, defeating the spam bots, and authenticating all humans.”

As of right now, we have no idea what the future of Twitter will look like. We do know the deal is expected to close sometime in 2022.
