Fortnite Made 3 Billion Dollars This Year
The joke’s on all of those parents that said video games weren’t good for you, because the creators of Fortnite, Epic Games, made 3 BILLION dollars in profit from Fortnite just this year.
Oh, and that isn’t the crazy part. The crazy part is that Fortnite: Battle Royale (that’s the game mode that all of your kids are playing) is actually completely and totally free.
So, how do they even make money then? Well, hold on to your hats, because people buy costumes for their characters to wear, along with silly dances and “emotes” for them.
That’s right– when your kid is begging for money to spend on Fortnite, they don’t even need any of the stuff they are getting to make them better at the game, or to open up any extra parts of it. They are just spending your money on outfit changes and silly hand jives.
That means that Fortnite made 3 billion dollars profit selling virtual clothes to kids. Which, makes sense to me, because my daughter changes clothes five times a day anyway… why wouldn’t her Fortnite character?
At least I don’t have to do the laundry.
