Gap gave the sweatshirt a second job: carrying your stuff.
The brand’s new bags borrow from its logo hoodies and five-pocket jeans. And they kept the details that make the idea funny in the first place. The hoodie bag has the front pouch pocket. The denim tote has belt loops.
A purse wearing pants. We have arrived.
The GapBag collection, designed by Reed Krakoff, launched online September 8, 2026, with selected styles also heading to North American Gap stores.
The Hoodie Tote kept the good pocket
The standard Hoodie Tote in Tuscan Red was listed at $79.95 and in stock when checked. It has that big embroidered GAP logo across the front pocket, shoulder handles and a cord closure at the top.
That front pocket is doing a lot of the convincing here. Put a lip balm in there. A receipt. The other lip balm you bought because you couldn’t find the first one.
Gap lists the bag at 14.5 inches long, 12 inches high and 5 inches deep, with a 9.5-inch handle drop. The cotton-blend shell has a water-resistant neoprene lining, and Gap says the standard size accommodates a laptop up to 13 inches. Check your device’s measurements before treating that as a promise about your particular laptop.
One shopping detail: the listing is marked excluded from promotions. A big sale banner elsewhere on the site doesn’t mean this bag gets the discount.
The denim bags brought belt loops
The Five-Pocket Tote family leans into jeans: denim hardware, pocket stitching and actual belt loops. Gap announced prices from $79.95 to $148, with a separate limited-edition patchwork denim style at $498.
Four hundred ninety-eight dollars. Those are some ambitious pants.

Between these and the Betty Crocker cake-slice purses, handbags are getting very literal about their inspiration.
Your outfit can wear a hoodie. Your keys can, too.
