A Honey Nut Cheerios hot tub is one of the prizes in General Mills’ Biggest Fan Contest. Yes, a cereal-themed hot tub. Apparently the next step after eating breakfast from a bowl is sitting in one.

The company teamed up with Shaquille O’Neal for a competition built around Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Lucky Charms, Reese’s Puffs and Honey Nut Cheerios. Its official announcement describes prizes inspired by each cereal, including the bowl-themed hot tub and matching lawn chairs.

The cereal you choose matters

The prize lineup also includes a Cinnamon Toast Crunch fan room, a Reese’s Puffs turntable and sound system, and a Lucky Charms cauldron with two one-ounce gold bars. The grand prize includes $20,000 and a trip.

So this is a rare occasion when picking your favorite cereal deserves a little thought beyond what is already in the pantry.

How to enter

According to the current official rules, entry closes December 31, 2026, at 11:59:59 p.m. Central Time. Eligible entrants must be at least 18 and live in the 50 United States or Washington, D.C.; additional exclusions apply. No purchase is required.

Choose a cereal team, write a statement of up to 300 words and submit your own photo or a video shorter than 30 seconds. The rules allow one entry per person and prohibit AI-created submissions. This is judged on fandom, creativity and visual effort.

Read the full rules before entering, including the separate age requirements for prize travel. The hot tub is a contest prize, so this isn’t something you can just add to your cart.

Picking a favorite cereal used to be a breakfast decision. Now it apparently involves planning the backyard.
