Hello Kitty and friends have moved into a candy-colored Christmas scene, and you can open it one door at a time.

The tiny characters get gingerbread, peppermint and winter-themed looks. Hello Kitty has a peppermint-patterned outfit, Kuromi has a little gingerbread detail on her hood, and Pompompurin gets a full gingerbread-cookie makeover. Someone understood the holiday assignment.

The box becomes part of the display
The six cardboard decorations include a gingerbread house, a snow globe and a nutcracker. The pop-off packaging doubles as a play scene, so the characters have somewhere to hang out after you open the doors.
The candy-and-gingerbread theme runs through the figures and the little holiday scenery. The calendar includes Hello Kitty, My Melody, Kuromi, Cinnamoroll, Pompompurin, Keroppi, Pochacco and more of the Sanrio crew.
Jazwares lists the set for ages 6 and up. These are small collectible pieces, so check that age recommendation if you’re buying it as a gift.
