Here Is The First Look At The New Mrs. Doubtfire
I am a HUGE Robin Williams fan, and one of my ABSOLUTE favorite movies he was ever in — well, I have a LOT of favorites, actually — but ONE of my favorite Robin Williams films just happens to be Mrs. Doubtfire.
Well, turns out, Mrs. Doubtfire is getting a reboot of sorts.
Let’s be honest, you can NEVER remake the character that Robin Williams made famous on the Big Screen.
But, this version is going to actually be on Broadway.
I might go to New York, just to see the remake On Stage!
Rob McClure will star as Euphegenia Doubtfire — er, Daniel Hillard — a father who must play a cross-dressing, Scottish, elderly nanny in order to spend time with his children.
One might wonder HOW ON EARTH they are going to accomplish all the quick face changes from Daniel to Euphegenia. I know that is the FIRST thing I wondered about.
Euphegenia Doubtfire takes a village. I’ve got an entire Indianapolis 500 pit crew back there. My dressers and make-up team are superheroes. One of the most thrilling differences between the movie and the Broadway show is that we are doing this in real time.

When Daniel Hillard runs into the other room and emerges as everyone’s favorite Scottish nanny 18 seconds later, our director can’t yell cut and send me to a trailer for five hours. We’ve got 18 seconds. I can feel the audience sweating with me! ‘IS HE GONNA MAKE IT?!?’ The stakes are so high! It makes for electrifying theatre

I am SO curious to see how it all comes together!
Mrs. Doubtfire starts preview shows on March 9th, but will make its big debut on Broadway, April 5th.
