I found out there was a Disney College Program when it was too late for me.
YOU, my friend, should JUMP on the opportunity! I know SO many people who have gone through the program, and they have nothing but MAGICAL things to say about it.
Here’s What You Need To Know About The Disney College Program
This program allows you to work at the MOST MAGICAL PLACE ON EARTH, while still earning college credits for a semester or two.
It’s super competitive to be accepted, but that shouldn’t deter you from trying! While they get close to 50,000 applicants every year, they can only accept 12,000 new annual recruits.
The hours might sometimes be less than desirable, but you will NOT regret one moment of the fun! It says right on the Disney College Program’s page that you may have to work early mornings, and late nights. You basically have to be available at their beck and call.
Don’t forget, summers in Orlando are HOT. You will be expected to work in the heat, and you must do so with a smile on your face, and a Disney spring in your step.
The Disney College Program is not accredited, but you have the option to take classes with a Disney Flare.
Some of the classes available are Animal Sciences, Leadership 101, The Epcot Story, Costuming, and SO many more!
You get in the parks FREE! In your off time, you get to play in whichever parks you prefer, free of charge.
You also get a discount on foods and merchandise. Every once in a while, you get cast perks, like sneak peeks on rides! Heck, I’d go just for that!
You get paid for your Disney College Experience. Granted, it’s minimum wage, and they take housing out of your check. But, at least it’s something, right?!?
You stay in housing close to the Disney parks. It is relative cheap — one hundred to about two hundred bucks a week, but it is a pretty strict setup. It’s kind of like a dorm experience at school would be, and you WILL have roommates.
The experience will look FABULOUS on your resume! You will be working for a Fortune 500 company, and Disney customer service is KNOWN in the industry to be second to none!
Bottom line, go apply! You will NOT regret the decision!
