Some dinner plans call for a cute outfit. These call for a serious commitment to napkins.
Hook & Reel is marking its 10th anniversary with an expanded seafood-boil menu at participating restaurants. The September 17 announcement highlights three preset combinations, including one with lobster tails. You still choose the sauce and heat.
Pick the seafood mix first
The useful difference is not just the number of people at dinner. Each combination changes what you will be cracking and peeling.
- Perfect Storm: The brand’s individual option has one snow crab cluster, head-off shrimp and black mussels, with corn and potatoes.
- Boil Trio: Listed for two, this combines two snow crab clusters, head-off shrimp and crawfish, plus corn and potatoes.
- Lobster Party: Listed for two to three, this includes two lobster tails, two snow crab clusters and two pounds of head-off shrimp, with broccoli, corn and potatoes.
If lobster is the point of the outing, that makes the third option the one to inspect. If you want mussels, look at Perfect Storm; crawfish are in the Trio. Those are more helpful distinctions than simply ordering whichever name sounds biggest.
The sauce decision is a separate conversation
The official menu lists choices including garlic butter, lemon pepper, Original Cajun and the Hook & Reel Special Blend, with mild, spicy and fire heat levels. It also lists plain and dry Old Bay options.
For a shared order, settle that part before everyone gets excited about the crab. “We should split something” and “we agree on fire-level spice” are two very different statements.
Check your restaurant before making it the plan
The anniversary announcement does not give a national price. The chain also warns that menus vary by location, so use its restaurant finder to check the participating location’s actual menu and total before ordering. Serving estimates are the brand’s guidance, not a guarantee that everyone at your table has the same appetite.
