How To Get Rid Of Black Algae In Your Pool

This summer, we are all about chilling in the pool and enjoying the hot weather.

Problem is, in Texas it keeps raining, and that’s making it hard to keep our pool in tip-top shape.

We had a BBQ coming up, and our pool had started to grow some black algae.

We can’t be having black algae in our pool! It’s summer time, and we want to enjoy it!

We used Hth Pool Chemicals to rid our pool of black algae

So, I came up with a foolproof way to get rid of it! I used the HTH Pool Ultra Complete Shock treatment.

It works well, and doesn’t over chlorinate your pool. Remember the key is to get rid of the algae as fast as possible and get back to swimming, so I like to use the good stuff.

I usually  chlorinated my pool by adding a couple of these HTH®  Extended Skimmer Sticks into my skimmer. They last a couple of weeks, and do an amazing job. I left this in the pool overnight, and then the next day, I brushed the algae spots with a brush.

They just came right off.  You can get HTH® Pool Care at Walmart, Home Depot, Meijer, Ace Hardware, BJs Wholesale Club, or Costco.

And that is how I have a beautiful, clean pool that I enjoy all summer long! And they love it!

    1. What’s wrong with it Steve? I’m curious myself. Not particular familiar with “shock” treatments but never heard anything bad about them either.
