How to Have A Virtual Doctor Appointment For Non-Emergency Issues
Y’all. I woke up this morning in a world of hurt. I knew it wasn’t an emergency, but that didn’t make me feel any better. UTI = 1, Me = 0.

What the heck was I going to do? I sure didn’t want to go into the doctor’s office. I have been so careful about staying quarantined and away from people.

Here is what you do for non-emergency issues.

You have a couple choices here.

1. Call Your Doctor. If it is something simple like a bladder infection, a back that has “gone out,” or pink eye, they may be able to ask you a bunch of questions over the phone, and get you the help you need without having to come in.

Keep in mind. This is not a guaranteed situation. It depends on the doctor, and what is wrong, but always call first.

2. Telemedicine. There Is a TeleDoc website, where they will connect you with a doctor, a therapist, or a medical expert.

Our doctors, therapists, and specialists can help you with the flu, infections, anxiety, stress, skin conditions, and provide advice on serious medical conditions. No matter what you’re facing, we’re available from wherever you are by phone, video, or app.

The best part is, some insurances even cover the costs of these visits. If you are not sure, ask your insurance company to be sure.

You just get onto a video chat with a doctor, tell them your symptoms and they can treat you. They can even call in medication to your local pharmacy.
I cannot tell you how amazing virtual doctor appointments are right now. They’ve saved my life and saved me from having to go and expose myself to other sicker individuals.
So, if you need some non-emergency medical assistance, a virtual appointment may just be the way to go! Just keep in mind, you may have a long wait time but it’ll be totally worth it!
Please DO NOT go to the emergency room for things that can be handled other ways! They are inundated as it is. Don’t make their job harder.
