Swarovski Turned Nespresso Capsules Into $70 Christmas Ornaments

Your coffee habit can have its own Christmas ornament now. Swarovski and Nespresso made tiny crystal versions of Nespresso capsules, and yes, they come with little ribbons for the tree.

They’re $70 each. That is a very fancy coffee pod, but for the person whose Nespresso machine is practically a member of the family, the gift idea makes sense.

There are two shapes to choose from, plus a green espresso cup that starts at $20 if you’d rather put the gift to work every morning.

Pick their capsule: Original or Vertuo

The Original Capsule ornament has the little tapered shape Original-machine fans will recognize, with 62 facets, a chrome-tone top and a pink satin ribbon.

The Vertuo Capsule ornament is the rounder, domed version. It has 98 facets and a green ribbon, so you can match the ornament to their actual coffee setup. Both use Swarovski’s Shimmer effect.

These are tiny decorations, not giant novelty ornaments: Swarovski lists the Original at 1⅜ by 1 by 1¼ inches and the Vertuo at 1¾ by ¾ by 1⅝ inches. They are decorative objects, not usable coffee capsules or toys, and Swarovski says they’re not suitable for children under 15.

The pod is familiar. The sparkle is doing a lot of extra work.

The $20 espresso cup is the smaller splurge

The green Pixie Espresso cup is $20 and made of stainless steel, with Swarovski’s swan on the side. It’s a metallic green cup rather than a crystal-covered one, which is useful to know before you click expecting wall-to-wall rhinestones.

One practical bonus: Swarovski says this cup is dishwasher-safe. It cannot go in the microwave.

The travel mug and crystal holder are sold separately

There’s also a large green travel mug for $40, with a black lid and a metallic finish. This one needs hand-washing; Swarovski specifically says it is not dishwasher-safe.

The matching crystal-decorated green holder is another $40. It has a strap and cutout sides, and the crystals are on the holder itself.

If you want the mug-and-holder combination, that’s $80 before tax and shipping, not $40 for the set.

All five pieces showed available online on Swarovski’s U.S. site when checked October 4. Prices and stock can change, so check the individual listing before buying.

And if your gift recipient would rather have coffee inside the capsule, there’s also Starbucks Peppermint Mocha for Nespresso Vertuo.
