Netflix has released the trailer for The One About Matthew Perry, a three-part documentary series arriving October 27, 2026. The announcement gives us a clearer idea of whose stories will shape this look at the actor’s life.
Perry’s younger sister, Mia Perry Bowick, is among the interviewees. Netflix says the series also includes previously unreleased photos and videos from the family’s private archive.
For people who know him best as Chandler Bing, those family memories offer a reason to pay attention. The people who knew him away from the screen are helping tell the story.
Who appears in the Matthew Perry documentary?
According to Netflix’s Tudum announcement, Bowick and longtime friends Roger Castillo and David Pressman are speaking about Perry on camera for the first time.
Castillo even drove Perry to his Friends audition. That is quite a chapter of a friendship to have witnessed.
Also featured are Kevin Pollak, who worked with Perry in The Whole Nine Yards; former NBC Entertainment president Warren Littlefield; and Jeff Strauss, a writer and producer on the first season of Friends.
Bowick says she hopes the series will help people understand her brother more fully. That family perspective is central to Netflix’s description of the project, which frames the documentary around memories from close friends and relatives.
When can you watch it?
Emmy-winning filmmaker Mary Robertson directs the three-part series. Netflix posted the official trailer on September 29, so you can watch that now while waiting for the October 27 premiere.
