Magic Kingdom has a new pianist at Casey’s Corner, but Carol is not new to Disney. She has been making music around Walt Disney World for 36 years.
Carol recently stepped behind the piano on Main Street U.S.A., where she is bringing ragtime classics and Disney favorites to one of the park’s most recognizable little performance spots.
Who is the new Casey’s Corner pianist?
Carol is a Central Florida native who started reading music at age two and playing piano at four. Her Disney career began in 1990 at the Comedy Warehouse on Pleasure Island.
Since then, she has performed at the Rose & Crown Pub, EPCOT festivals, the Hoop-De-Doo Musical Revue and the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Moving to Casey’s Corner puts all of that experience right in the middle of Magic Kingdom’s Main Street atmosphere.
Disney says Carol has been learning new songs and revisiting music she has not had a chance to play in a while. Her current selections include the ragtime sound guests expect at Casey’s Corner, along with songs connected to one of her favorite composers, Alan Menken.
Why this tiny Magic Kingdom detail matters
Big rides get the billboards, but live performers are often the reason a park feels alive instead of simply busy.
You can hear a piano before you ever see who is playing it. People slow down. Kids dance. Someone recognizes a song and suddenly an ordinary snack stop becomes one of the memories they actually talk about after the trip.
Carol’s history makes this appointment especially lovely. She is not arriving from outside the parks to fill a chair. She has spent decades playing across Disney World, and now she is bringing that experience to a spot where thousands of families pass every day.
What songs might Carol play?
Disney specifically says Carol is playing classic ragtime music at Casey’s Corner. She also enjoys music by Alan Menken, including songs from The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
Her favorite Disney character is Tinker Bell, and Carol told Disney that she likes using music the way Tinker Bell fixes things—helping a sad guest feel happier or turning someone’s requested song into a personal moment.
Disney has not published a guaranteed daily performance schedule in its announcement, so treat a Casey’s Corner set as a delightful thing to look for rather than an appointment with a confirmed time.
Magic Kingdom is not the only park getting fresh music right now. Hollywood Studios has a new Lilypad soundtrack coming to Alien Swirling Saucers, and EPCOT has four more concert windows during Disney World’s Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month celebration.
