New York Bakery has taken the cheese-and-bread situation beyond a slice of Texas toast.
The brand’s Baked Bites are little bread bites with cheese filling, available in Garlic & Cheese and Jalapeño Cheddar Cheese. They can go in the air fryer, and the package photos show the part that matters: cheese inside the bread, rather than just on top.
That sounds like a reasonable addition to a snack plate that is already mostly an excuse to eat warm cheese.
Two fillings to choose from
In its September 29 announcement, parent company Marzetti says Baked Bites are New York Bakery’s first line in the frozen snacks category. The bites are oven-baked rather than fried before you prepare them at home.
The Garlic & Cheese box describes a garlic and five-cheese filling. The Jalapeño Cheddar Cheese version is described as mildly spicy on the package.
Both boxes shown in the official photo contain 15 bites and weigh 13.6 ounces. That count is worth keeping in mind if you are putting them out for a group: one box gives five people three bites each.
Look near the frozen appetizers
Here is the useful shopping detail: Marzetti says to look for Baked Bites in the frozen snacks and appetizers aisle. Its other new bread products stay with the frozen bread.
The brand says they can be prepared in an air fryer, and the pictured boxes advertise seven to eight minutes. Follow the full directions on your own box for temperature and preparation rather than using that front-of-box time alone.
Availability varies by retailer. The announcement does not set a nationwide price, so check your store’s listing before making a special trip.
Garlic & Cheese is the straightforward pick for a garlic-bread mood. Jalapeño Cheddar is there when the snack plate needs a little pepper.
