Live-action series can either be a hit or miss. For example, How The Grinch Stole Christmas with Jim Carrey was a masterpiece but ‘Scooby Doo’ on the other hand should have stayed a cartoon.
Did anyone else find Scooby oddly weird looking?
Besides from that, Netflix is developing a live-action series based on Yoshihiro Togashi’s Yu Yu Hakusho.
A recent announcement on Twitter from Netflix Japan Anime stated that a live-action take on Yoshihiro Togashi’s franchise is in the works!
Sadly there aren’t many more details besides the fact that a live action series is coming and that the series will be released around the world at the same time. Kazutaka Sakamoto (Aggretsuko, Devilman Crybaby) will also be executive producer and Teru Morii will be producing.
ROBOT will be working alongside Netflix Japan with the planning and production of the live action series. The series will also be considered a Netflix Original.
If Netflix has anything to do with it, the live action series will be excellent and with a simultaneous worldwide drop that makes things even more thrilling.
