Amazon’s 48-hour October sale is live for Prime members, with another round of Today’s Big Deals scheduled for 1 p.m. PDT / 4 p.m. EDT. Those limited-time drops can sell out before the event ends.

Check whether a discounted Prime plan fits
- Prime for Young Adults: eligible new members ages 18–24 and qualifying higher-education students can get a six-month trial before a discounted paid membership begins. Amazon verifies eligibility.
- Prime Access: qualifying government-assistance recipients and income-verified customers can get a discounted membership. Eligible new members can try it for 30 days.
Both plans include Prime member-exclusive deal access. If you already have Prime, you do not need another membership to shop the event.

When are the final Prime Big Deal Days deal drops?
Amazon says Today’s Big Deals launch three times daily during the event: midnight, 8 a.m., and 1 p.m. PDT. That is 3 a.m., 11 a.m., and 4 p.m. Eastern.
On the final day, that makes the 1 p.m. Pacific drop the last scheduled Today’s Big Deals drop before the event ends at 11:59 p.m. Pacific. A drop time does not mean every item becomes cheaper, and limited-time offers can disappear while supplies last.
Before you buy, check what the item used to cost
This is my favorite useful part of Amazon’s current sale setup: Amazon says you can tap Price History on a product detail page to see up to 365 days of pricing data for that item.
- Look at the actual price history. A giant percentage-off badge is less useful than knowing what the item was selling for last week or last month.
- Check the exact model, size and seller. Make sure the price history and current deal are for the thing you actually want.
- Compare the full checkout cost. Coupons, shipping, quantity and subscription requirements can change the real price.
- Do not let the countdown bully you. If the price is not good for you, it is not a good deal just because the sale ends tonight.
Amazon also says Alexa for Shopping can track a target price and alert you when an item drops. Prime Big Deal Days is exclusive to Prime members and availability varies by product and market.
The sale ends tonight, but that does not make every discount a once-in-a-lifetime emergency. Check the price history, buy the stuff you actually wanted, and let the rest remain somebody else’s cardboard box.
