There is one film that has tons of Oscar buzz, and it has the power to change the lives of dogs.

Power of the Dog is a western drama starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Kirsten Dunst. It is up for 12 Oscars this year — which is more than any other film — but it’s about to do so much more than win an award.

Pawp is a 24/7 on-demand support system for pet parents. It gives humans the ability to reach out to licensed vets and nurses anytime they have an emergency or a question about their pet.

This year Pawp has announced plans to turn this year’s Academy Awards show into one of the top animal charity events of the year, and it’s pretty ingenious.

How Is Pawp Raising Money At This Year’s Academy Awards Show?

Seeing that Power of the Dog is up for so many Oscars — including best picture and original score — Pawp is taking full advantage.

According to a press release, Pawp will donate money to an animal rescue each time Power of the Dog is mentioned.

Pawp will be monitoring the 2022 Oscars telecast on Sunday, March 27, for mentions of “the year’s most-nominated pack-leader.” Each time that the film Power of the Dog is verbally mentioned during the Oscars telecast, Pawp will donate $10,000 to animal rescues. The pet company is dedicated to donating up to $1,000,000 to help shelter pets during this year’s Academy Awards.

With Power of the Dog up for 12 Oscars, the earning potential for animal rescues is REAL!!

I don’t know about you, but I was planning to skip the Oscars this year. With so many films not coming to theaters, I legit don’t even know what’s nominated.

BUT, I’m going to grab my popcorn and keep a tally of how many times Power of the Dog is verbally mentioned during the broadcast.

While Power of the Dog has nothing to do with dogs, Pawp is thrilled that it is the most nominated film, guaranteeing pups in need will be this year’s true winners.
