Taking your dog along for a SONIC run? Ask about a Wag Cup before you order. Just don’t count on it being free.
SONIC introduced the Wag Cup as a whipped-topping treat for dogs. Its advertised free-with-purchase offer was an October 2022 app promotion. For a visit now, check with your location about availability, ingredients and price.
Is a SONIC pup cup free?
The official October 3, 2022 announcement offered a free Wag Cup with a purchase through the SONIC app during that month. It also noted that mobile ordering was available only at select locations.
That promotion is not a standing promise of a free cup today. Before adding one to your order, ask whether there is a charge and whether a purchase is required.
What is in a SONIC Wag Cup?
SONIC described its original Wag Cup as a sweet whipped-topping snack. That is the brand’s description of the 2022 offer, not a guarantee that every location will serve the same thing now.
Ask what your location puts in its cup. Don’t assume it includes ice cream or a dog biscuit just because you have seen one in a photo.
How to ask for a Wag Cup at SONIC
When you place your order, keep it simple: “Do you offer a Wag Cup or pup cup for dogs, and how much is it?” If the answer is yes, ask what is in it before ordering.
Making a special trip? Contact that SONIC first so you know whether a cup is available.
If you are using the app, check your selected location’s current menu and offers. If you cannot find a Wag Cup, ask the location directly instead of relying on the old “Ice Cream” → “Sundaes & Cones” instructions from the 2022 promotion.
The name to ask for is Wag Cup. Let your location confirm the rest before you order.
