Who doesn’t love a classic combination like strawberry and kiwi? Two things that are great on their own but fantastic together, everybody’s favorite part of a fruit salad…what’s not to like? And smoothies, man, don’t even get me started on how great smoothies are. They’re like liquid love served up in a glass, so smooth and…ie? This isn’t working, is it? I can see you there, shaking your head and saying, “There’s no way you’ll convince me to be healthy, Totally the Bomb! NO. WAY.” Well, fine. I suppose there’s no point giving you this recipe for a Strawberry Kiwi Layered Smoothie then…
What You’ll Need to Make a Strawberry Kiwi Layered Smoothie:
Strawberry layer:
- 1 cup strawberries
- 1/2 ripe banana
- 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt
Kiwi layer:
- 1 cup honeydew melon
- 2 kiwis
- 1/4 cup orange juice
How to Make a Strawberry Kiwi Layered Smoothie:
You’re going to need a blender for this, in case that wasn’t obvious when you saw the word “smoothie.” Blend up all the ingredients for the strawberry layer until they’re smooth. Pour the mixture into your favorite glass. Or your second favorite. You do you.
For the second layer, rinse out your trusty blender and combine all of the ingredients for the kiwi layer. Pour this over the top of the strawberry layer – gently. If you don’t do it gently, the smoothie gods will be angry and there will be no appeasing them. You’ll have to sacrifice your trusty blender to them while covered in the mixture of all your failed smoothie experiments. Also, your smoothie just won’t look very good, and that would suck.
