Hondo is back, because apparently eight seasons were not enough danger for one man.
S.W.A.T.: Exiles premieres September 25 on STARZ, with Shemar Moore returning as Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson.
This is a new team, not just another season of S.W.A.T.
STARZ describes Exiles as a new setup in which Hondo is pulled back into action to lead a last-chance experimental S.W.A.T. unit made up of untested recruits.
The first episode, “Clean Entry,” starts with Hondo getting a shot at redemption after a fatal decision costs him his career. His assignment is to build a new unit from overlooked talent.
So yes, the man who spent years trying to keep one team alive is now getting handed a group of people who specifically need him to turn them into a team. Very relaxing.
Shemar Moore is still Hondo
The part that matters for longtime viewers: Moore is not handing the role to somebody else. He is reprising Hondo and is also an executive producer on the new series.
STARZ says the series streams only on STARZ, with new episodes on Fridays.
When can you watch S.W.A.T.: Exiles?
The premiere date is Friday, September 25, 2026. STARZ’s schedule lists the first episode as a 47-minute TV-14 crime drama.
If you quit S.W.A.T. because you thought Hondo’s story was finished, apparently the universe has filed an appeal.
