Taco Bell took the Cheesy Gordita Crunch idea, made it snack-size and decided one little taco was clearly not enough.
The Gordita Crunch Duos come two to an order, with steak and slow-roasted chicken versions on the menu. Here is what you get—and why I would check the order screen before assuming both packs cost the same.
Two tacos, with cheese between the shells
Taco Bell’s steak menu listing describes flatbread wrapped around a white-corn shell, with mozzarella, Pepper Jack and cheddar in between. Inside are grilled marinated steak, chipotle sauce, lettuce and pico de gallo.
The chicken version uses slow-roasted chicken with the same cheese-and-shell setup and toppings.
The practical decision is the protein. One pack is two of that version; trying both means ordering a steak pack and a chicken pack. That sounds like a reasonable excuse to bring someone who takes sharing seriously.
Check the price for your restaurant
When checked on September 18, Taco Bell’s specialties menu displayed $5.49 for the chicken two-pack and $5.99 for steak. Those are displayed menu prices, not a promise for every location. Taco Bell says prices and participation vary, and tax is extra.
I would compare the two packs in the app before checkout, especially if the price is what made you curious in the first place.
The Discovery Luxe Box is another option
The Discovery Luxe Box listing includes chicken Duos, a Crunchy Taco, a Doritos Locos Taco, cinnamon twists and a medium drink. Check the price, side and drink choices shown for your restaurant before ordering.
My choice would depend on the rest of the order. If I only wanted to try the Duos, I would start with a pack. If everyone is already asking what is for dinner, I would compare the box with the items we actually want instead of adding sides one at a time.
