I am straight up Giddy. Tom Hanks may play Geppetto in the live-action version of Pinocchio.

One of my FAVORITE Disney films EVER is Pinocchio! It is the film that gave us Jiminy Cricket, The Blue Fairy, and the song “When You Wish Upon A Star” — IMHO the most ICONIC Disney song ever to exist.

Now, like Disney has done with SO many movies recently, we are getting a live-action version of the classic animated film.

According to AllEars.Net (my FAVORITE source for all things Disney), Tom Hanks is in talks to play the role of the happy little woodworker who creates Pinocchio.

Not only that, but the film will be directed by Robert Zemeckis, the genius who brought us films like the Back to the Future trilogy, Romancing the Stone, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Forrest Gump, Contact, Castaway, and The Polar Express — just to name a few.

Zemeckis has, obviously, worked with Hanks on some of the biggest blockbusters of his career, and I can’t WAIT for them to team up on this classic Disney film!

We’ve already seen SO many movies pushed back due to this pesky little coronavirus– like MULAN, which is set to be release straight to Disney+ Access.

So, we are HOPING the new Pinocchio doesn’t get pushed to the side for too long.

I am more excited for THIS film, than I have been for any new Disney movie in a very long time — and that’s saying a lot! We all know I LOVE everything Disney!

We will keep you updated as we learn more.
