Have You Ever Wondered Why Hobby Lobby Doesn’t Carry Halloween Decor?

I am in full Halloween mode right now. Like, I could decorate for Halloween at this very moment.

So, of course, I am anxiously waiting for stores in my area to stock for Halloween and to my surprise, many haven’t yet.

I remember years ago that Hobby Lobby used to be THE place to visit for Halloween and Christmas mid-July but turns out, Hobby Lobby hasn’t been stocking Halloween decor (at least my store they haven’t) the last 2 years or so and I started to wonder why…

Well, apparently Hobby Lobby no longer stocks real Halloween decor items due to their religious beliefs.

In fact, people have been asking employees why Hobby Lobby isn’t carrying Halloween and this was a response:

Last year when I went to Hobby Lobby and asked why they don’t have Halloween stuff, they said it was because of the religious and historical background tied to the roots of Halloween. They said it goes against the company’s religious beliefs to carry Halloween stuff.

Now, of course you’ll find all sorts of pumpkins and fall themed items but you won’t find things relating to Halloween like zombies, spiders, witches, skulls, etc.

Some people are reporting their local Hobby Lobby carries the cutesy Halloween decor while others say they have NONE. So, it’s not entirely consistent.

But if you’re looking for the ya know, the real good spooky Halloween stuff, it’s not at Hobby Lobby.

And it’s too bad because I bet if Hobby Lobby did sell Halloween items, it would be ADORABLE and sell like hot cakes.

So, as you are out shopping for Halloween decor this year, you might want to skip Hobby Lobby.

Don't shop at a place that doesn't support women's or employee's rights due to their religious beliefs, period.

I used to shop there a lot, but dropping the Halloween decor was one more reason to quit going. Plus they start taking down the Xmas stuff around mid-December. Guess they have to hurry and get that 4th of July stuff on the shelf.

Not inline with Christian values? They didn’t have an issue before. Nor did Hobby Lobby have an issue when there was a federal case against them for purchasing antiquities and not full disclosing what they were. They had to surrender the pieces and pay a $3 million fine for it.

Anything can be demonized if you look hard enough. Easter and Christmas seasons were and still are pagan holidays to many. Is Hobby Lobby also going to pull those merchandises? Pagans also still celebrate autumn, are we going to now no longer see autumn-based items at the store? The Hobby Lobby in my area used to sell Halloween items, and suddenly this year I noticed that they no longer did. We were getting ready to do some Halloween celebrations, after not really being able to celebrate Halloween in 2020. So, we started with Hobby Lobby. The fact that the imaginations of Halloween are no longer included with the Hobby Lobby merchandise has put a damper on their store. Will they also stop using vehicles to transport their merchandise because heinous murderers have used vehicles to commit their crimes? Where does it stop? Like I said, anything can be demonized.

I just love how companies pick and choose which pagan holidays they will be celebrating all in the name of religion.

@Linda, It is their choice, their beliefs. No one is forcing you to shop there.
