Well, looks like Netflix doesn’t care if we don’t want Birdgerton without Regé-Jean Page.

In case you didn’t hear, it was announced a few weeks back that Regé-Jean Page aka The Duke of Hastings will not be in Season 2 of Bridgerton.

And of course, many (including myself) did not take that news lightly.

Well, Netflix could care less if we are upset or sad about his departure because they are moving ahead with Seasons 3 and 4.

Production for season 2 is already underway, which’ll focus on Lord Anthony Bridgerton’s own love story (based on the second Bridgerton book, The Viscount Who Loved Me).

Now, given what we’ve seen so far, it’s safe to assume season 3 and 4 will be based on their respective books as well which means we we could eventually end up with 8 seasons.

Bridgerton swept us off our feet. The creative team, led by Shonda [Rhimes], knew the material and delivered a beautiful, emotional, romantic drama for our members,” Bela Bajari, Netflix’s VP of Global TV, says in a statement. “They have some exciting plans for the future, and we think audiences will continue to swoon for this show. We’re planning to be in the Bridgerton business for a long time to come.”

Well, let’s just hope that the Duke of Hastings eventually makes a comeback even for a cameo because we all want to see him again!!
