A Live Action Series Of The Babysitters Club is Officially Coming To Netflix
Say hello to your friends because the Babysitters Club is coming to Netflix!
Netflix just announced a 10 episode live action series based on, well the best books ever written.
THE BABYSITTERS CLUB! AHHHH!
Kristy, Mary-Anne, Claudia, Stacey, and Dawn are coming to Netflix!
Any Xennial worth their salt spent countless middle school hours reading every single BSC they could get their hands on. We used to trade these books like drugs in middle school, and I am not the least bit embarrassed about it.
Sigh, I always wanted to be Claudia. She was just so cool.
If you will remember there was a one series run of the BBC back in the nineties on HBO, but Netflix is promising a more contemporary version this time.
Do you think that means the BBC will have iPhones and Instagram?
I don’t know how I feel about that.
The original Babysitters Club Author, Ann M. Martin is going to serve as a producer on the show.
“I’m amazed that there are so many passionate fans of ‘The Baby-Sitters Club’ after all these years, and I’m honored to continue to hear from readers – now grown, who have become writers, editors, teachers, librarians, filmmakers – who say that they see a reflection of themselves in the characters of Kristy and her friends,” Martin told Variety. “So I’m very excited about the forthcoming series on Netflix, which I hope will inspire a new generation of readers and leaders everywhere.”
There was also the movie. Did you guys watch the movie? (It’s still totally watchable over on Amazon.)
The most important question, though is– WILL THEY USE THE THEME SONG?
I still get this thing stuck in my head for weeks at a time.
