ABC is putting Home Alone on Christmas Eve and The Santa Clause on December 23. If your holiday plans involve wrapping presents with a familiar movie on, those are two dates to save.
The network’s 2026 holiday schedule also includes Mickey’s Christmas Carol, Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town, the returning Dancing with the Holidays special, and, yes, Die Hard. ABC has made its contribution to that annual Christmas-movie argument.
The Christmas movie dates to save
These are ABC broadcast times, listed in Eastern/Pacific as the network announced them. Check your local ABC station’s listings for your time zone and any schedule changes. This is not Freeform’s schedule or a list of movies you can stream whenever you want.
- November 25, 8–8:30 p.m.: Mickey’s Christmas Carol.
- November 26, 8–11 p.m.: Mary Poppins.
- November 29, 7–11 p.m.: The Sound of Music.
- November 30, 10–11 p.m.: Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town.
- December 6, 8:02–11 p.m.: Die Hard. Note the 8:02 start if you’re setting a reminder.
- December 23, 9–11 p.m.: The Santa Clause.
- December 24, 8–10:15 p.m.: Home Alone.
Also on the movie calendar: The Fantastic Four: First Steps on December 13 and Father of the Bride on December 20, both from 8:33–11 p.m. Mufasa: The Lion King follows on December 27 from 8:32–11 p.m.
The specials start before December
The Wonderful World of Disney: Holiday Spectacular airs November 30 from 8–10 p.m., with musical performances from Walt Disney World and Disneyland. That leads straight into Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town, so you can make a whole evening of it.
On December 1, Dancing with the Holidays airs from 8–9 p.m. ABC says the special includes 12 new holiday-themed routines. CMA Country Christmas follows from 9–10:01 p.m.
For another music night, iHeartRadio Jingle Ball 2026 is scheduled for December 17 from 8–10 p.m. All of those times are Eastern/Pacific.
What about the Christmas morning parade?
Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade is on ABC’s December 25 lineup. Check your local listing for the airtime. The network’s published time-zone listing is inconsistent, so we’re not giving you a potentially wrong alarm to set on Christmas morning.
If you’d rather choose your own movie time, our Christmas movie streaming guide covers that separately. For this ABC lineup, Christmas Eve belongs to Kevin McCallister.
