Hello Kitty in a tiny Burger King crown? That is an extremely persuasive argument for a nugget run.

Burger King’s Hello Kitty and Friends King Jr. Meal launches October 20, 2026, at participating U.S. restaurants. There are six mystery-box toys, including a golden-colored Hello Kitty. A separate California event has a gold-plated prize, so let’s untangle the two before anyone plans a road trip.

Which Hello Kitty toys can you get?

The lineup is Hello Kitty, My Melody, Kuromi, Cinnamoroll, Keroppi, and golden-colored Hello Kitty. Each wears a BK crown. The blind box means you aren’t promised a particular character.

That makes this a fun little unboxing, but not a guaranteed way to finish a collection. A meal purchase is not a promise that the missing character on your shelf will be the next one out of the box.

How to get the meal

The promotion runs while supplies last; BK hasn’t announced one national price or a firm end date. Its announcement also says some golden-toy finders may receive the full six-piece set.

Check the price and toy availability with your restaurant before making a special trip. “Participating locations” does not mean every counter has the same stock.

The gold-plated prize is a separate, one-day event

The Golden Claw Machine event is at 10014 Paramount Blvd., Downey, California, on October 23, 11 a.m.–5 p.m. Pacific (noon–6 p.m. Mountain), ending earlier if prizes run out. Its one-of-one Hello Kitty prize is 14K gold-plated—not the golden-colored meal toy.

Entry is limited to legal residents of the 49 U.S. states and D.C., excluding Rhode Island, ages 18 and up. One entry per person; no purchase is required. Visit that restaurant for the official rules and free entry method.

For most of us, the important question is much simpler: which tiny crowned friend is coming home with lunch?
