Duncan Hines Has New Single Serve Cake Cups and I Call Dibs on The Mermaid One
Duncan Hines has THREE new Cake Cup flavors coming in February, and I’m hoping they lives up to the Duncan Hines name.
Have you tried a Cake Cup before? You know, like a Mug Cake for one? Surely you have! They are usually a powder, that you add some water to, and then pop it in the microwave for a minute-or-so. Voila! Cake-ish for one.

You know what I mean by “cake-ish.” They try really hard to achieve that cake consistency, but they just don’t. The finished product usually tastes more like chewy batter, than actual cake.

I’m going to cross my fingers and toes, and HOPE to the cake gods that this new Duncan Hines Cake Cup is the answer to these other Mug Cakes that fall flat — quite literally.

They will come in three flavors: Galaxy, Unicorn, and Mermaid. They will also be single-serving cups, so your friend will have to buy their own!

The Galaxy Cake Cup is a chocolate cake mix, and comes with purple and white sprinkles, as well as blue and brown — I’m calling them Galaxy Pieces.

The Unicorn Cake Cup is a vanilla flavored pink cake mix, with white, pink, and purple sprinkles, and it also comes with some magical white edible pearls.

The Mermaid Cake Cup is a vanilla flavored purple cake, and comes with green magical cake pieces, and purple and white edible pearls.

Each cake cup is sold separately, and will cost less than two bucks. They will be hitting shelves in February, so be on the lookout.

You actually microwave the cake right in the container it comes in, so there is no cleanup — except maybe the spoon.

To make each cake cup, you mix in three tablespoons of water, and microwave for 1 minute. Talk about FAST snack! That’s awesome!

Look for these wherever you usually buy your Duncan Hines cake mixes.
