Gardens are great until you notice those pesky weeds sprouting in between your fruits and vegetables.

So how do we get rid of them?

You can spend time plucking each weed out of your garden or you can buy a handful of products that promise to omit the growth of weeds and yet somehow, they always grow back.

Luckily, there’s a better way to plant your vegetable garden without the hassle of worrying about how many weeds will make you pull out your hair this summer.

Thanks to a lady named Kim Anderson, all you need is a big bag of potting mix and vegetable seeds to nix the weeds!

Start by taking 2 cubic feet of potting mix and loosen the soil while also poking a few holes in the back for drainage.

Lay the bag of potting soil on a smooth surface, cut out the top and leave about a 4 or 5 inch border around the perimeter.

Lightly rake through the soil to loosen the potting mix even further and then evenly sprinkle the seeds you wish to grow.

To check if your seeds are evenly spread out, combine cornmeal and the seeds you’re planting to grow in an old spice bottle.

When you sprinkle your seeds throughout the soil, you’ll notice the cornmeal which will show you whether or not your seeds are evenly spread, courtesy of Ms. Kim Anderson!

To make life easier, you can place the potting soil on metal sawhorses and grates to make your “garden” waist level which in return, will also lift the bags of soil off of the hot concrete.

Keep in mind to continually keep your bags moist so you can watch your vegetables grow happy and healthy in bags of potting soil without having to worry about any weeds!
