Home Depot has found a way to make a paint bucket look like something you would put under the Christmas tree. Its new $2.98 holiday bucket has a little fireplace, a decorated tree and “2026” printed right on the front.

The white 2-gallon bucket is part of Home Depot’s newly announced holiday collection. Online sales are scheduled to begin October 1, 2026, while supplies last. Stores are expected to get them in mid-October.

This has gift-basket potential

The retailer’s photo shows the bucket dressed up with a red bow and wrapped presents. The tree-and-fireplace illustration does most of the decorating for you; add a ribbon and suddenly the hardware-store bucket is the gift packaging.

A movie-night version could hold packaged popcorn, cocoa packets and a pair of cozy socks. For someone who spends December making things, try small craft supplies or gift-wrapping essentials. Those are ideas for what to add yourself, not items promised with the $2.98 bucket.

It could also be handy for keeping gift tags, tape and ribbon together after the presents are opened. That is a better second act than another crumpled gift bag at the bottom of the closet.

October 1 online, mid-October in stores

Home Depot calls this its first limited-edition holiday bucket release. The announcement gives October 1 as the online date, but it does not specify a launch time for the bucket. The official product page is the place to check availability when sales begin.

If you also have your eye on the Home Depot holiday sweater filled with tools, that is a separate product with its own drop details. The bucket has its own $2.98 price and later in-store arrival.
