Hoppin’ Good Easter Trail Mix – Because Those Peeps Won’t Eat Themselves…
Easter is on the horizon, and with it come the squishiest and most confusing of candies: Peeps. And I have to admit, I have a little bit of an obsession with these strange marshmallow-y things. But since it’s not really socially acceptable to sit around just eating row after row of Peeps because you may or may not have an addiction to them, I had to come up with something a little different. Enter: Easter Trail Mix. And if I sneak a few more Peeps in there than are really necessary, well…that’s just a recipe modification.
What You’ll Need to Make Easter Trail Mix:
- 4 cups popped popcorn
- 10 Peeps – bunny shaped, of course
- Robin Eggs candy
- 1 cup melted white chocolate
- Rainbow sprinkles
How to Make Easter Trail Mix:
Get ready for the simplest recipe you’ll ever make – you’re going to be satisfying your Peep addiction in no time at all. Mix together the popcorn, Peeps, and Robin Eggs candy in a large bowl – try to pick one with a wider rim to get the best spread of chocolate possible. Add extra Peeps and/or candy as you see fit, because you’re an adult and you get to make those kind of decisions if you want. Then, drizzle your melted white chocolate over the mixture and sprinkle the rainbow sprinkles over the top. Let the trail mix sit for about 20 minutes so the chocolate can set again, then enjoy! See? I told you it was easy!
What a fun treat to make with that Easter candy! I love the look of Peeps but I’m not huge on eating them unless it’s on a smore. Lol. Maybe this treat will convert me. Thanks for sharing at Merry Monday this week!
So cute!Such a fun way to use up Easter candy!
