If You’re Addicted to Chick-Fil-A, This Ingredient May Explain Why
It was recently brought to everyone’s attention that Chick-Fil-A uses MSG (Monosodium glutamate) in their food and since the news surfaced, people are having mixing feelings about it.
For starters, people are concerned about having this ingredient in their food. After all, it has been a controversial ingredient for many years and even the Food and Drug Administration have deemed it as “generally recognized as safe”.
Um, I don’t like “generally” when it comes to my food and many other’s don’t either…
The controversy lies behind the symptoms the flavor enhancer can cause.
According to the Mayo Clinic, MSG can cause symptoms including headache, flushing, sweating, facial pressure, numbness, fluttering heartbeat, chest pain, and more.
Plus, MSG is known as a powerful, taste-enhancing amino acid. And we all know when foods taste this good, they activate the pleasure centers in the brain, which are also regulated by glutamate neurotransmission.
This means, MSG can cause people to be addicted to food such as their beloved Chick-Fil-A classic chicken sandwich, spicy chicken sandwich, and chicken nuggets – all of which include the ingredient.
You should know that Chick-Fil-A is one of the one fast-food restaurants that use MSG too.
Burger King, among others have removed this ingredient from their food.
So, if you’ve been wondering why you’re addicted to this chicken castle, now you know!
After tasting this chicken, I called it “crack chicken“. And now I know why! It’s the damn monosodium glutamate! I will avoid this place at all costs!
