Johnny Depp Was Asked To Resign From The ‘Fantastic Beasts’ Franchise and I’m So Sad About It

I have a little bad news for all of you that loved Johnny Depp in the role of the dark wizard, Gellert Grindelwald, in the Fantastic Beasts series.

Johnny Depp has resigned from the movie franchise in the wake of his legal battle with a British tabloid paper. There is no official word on whether this case had anything to do with the Depp bowing out of the Fantastic Beasts movies, but it kinda looks that way.

I wish to let you know that I have been asked to resign by Warner Bros. from my role as Grindelwald in ‘Fantastic Beasts’ and I have respected and agreed to that request.

Warner Bros. now has to go through the process of recasting the role — which, let’s be honest, there is nobody that can quite compare to Johnny Depp.

The movie has been pushed from coming out in November of 2021 to now dropping during the summer of 2022. That’s a bummer.

Johnny Depp will depart the ‘Fantastic Beasts’ franchise. We thank Johnny for his work on the films to date. Fantastic Beasts 3’ is currently in production, and the role of Gellert Grindelwald will be recast. The film will debut in theaters worldwide in the summer of 2022.

Y’all. They better get someone good, because I’m going to be honest — I LOVE Johnny Depp. I just can’t see anyone replacing him.

He was asked to resign because the courts found that he brutally beat his ex wife. The judge called him a “monster” and “woman beater”. I think being forced from this role is the least of his problems...

I thought the wife was the one to beat the crap out of him.
