A dinner club sounds lovely right up until somebody’s villa catches fire and the friendships start looking like evidence.
That is the setup for The Perfect Lie, the Dutch mystery drama arriving on Netflix on September 10, 2026. If your preferred television gathering involves attractive houses and people who absolutely should not trust one another, this one has the right invitation.
The welcome committee has secrets
According to Netflix’s announcement, Karen moves to Bergen with her family and is welcomed into an extravagant circle of friends. Then a fire kills a member of the group, and she begins questioning the relationships around her.
The series adapts Saskia Noort’s novel The Dinner Club. Loes Haverkort and Teun Luijkx are among the cast, with Dana Nechushtan and Margien Rogaar directing.
This is a scripted mystery, not a true-crime documentary. Think suspicious friendships and a newcomer trying to work out what she has walked into.
