Pink Donated Half A Million Dollars To Help Fight The Fires In Australia
In case you haven’t heard, there are horrific wildfires in Australia right now, and singer, P!NK, is showing up in a BIG way.
Blood-red skies can be seen in Southeast Australia, as they just had one of the WORST fire days ever. I can’t even imagine!
Pink is “devastated watching what is happening in Australia right now,” and she is doing something about it. The singer has personally pledged $500,00 to help with fighting these devastating fires.
After she announces her $500,000 pledge, she goes on the say, on her Instagram page, “My heart goes out the our friends and family in Oz.”
There are currently fires burning in EVERY Australian state, with New South Wales being devastated the most. I can’t even grasp the amount of fear and panic these people must be feeling.
During the dry season in Australia, there is always the danger of fires, but this year has been EXTREME. Lightning strikes, wind, and even some arson cases are to cause for the extreme amount and scope of these fires.
Twenty Four people are known to have perished in these fires, and the indigenous wildlife is also suffering. A whopping THIRD of the Koala habitat has been destroyed.
The pictures of the burned, orphaned, and displaced wildlife is enough to make you cry.
I certainly hope that more people of means, like Pink, step up and help the cause!
