The New ‘Sex And The City’ Reboot Will Feature COVID But Not Samantha
We already knew that HBO Max was coming out with a continuation (reboot? revival?) of Sex and the City, and I have never been MORE ready for a show to drop!!

Three of the four stars are coming back for the new series, with Kim Cattrall’s “Samantha” bowing out of the reunion.
Who needs her, right? HA! I’m just kidding.
At least we will still get to follow the escapades of Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte. It’s going to be Epic, and I can’t wait!
There is a giant Elephant-In-The-Room that is going to be addressed in the NEW Sex and the City, and they kind of CAN’T get away with not adressing the issue.
That is, of course, the coronavirus.
Yes, COVID is going to be a part of the Sex and the City world, because it is now so much a part of our everyday lives.
I’m thinking they aren’t going to make it THAT big of a deal, because SO much has changed since the OG Sex and the City, they are going to have to address it all.
Just think about everything that has happened in the “real world” since the final episode of Sex and the City.
2004 was a LONG time ago. I mean, we hadn’t even had the Barack Obama presidency yet, podcasts were JUST becoming a thing, and we hadn’t been through the hell that was 2020.
They have SO much content to deal with, and I can’t wait to see how it all plays out.
If you think about it, the ladies are now in their 50s — a completely different time in their lives — so, it’s bound to be a bit different.
But What About Samantha? Will They Replace Her?
According the TMZ, the NEW Sex and the City “reboot isn’t looking for a 4th character to replace Kim Cattrall… instead, the show’s taking advantage of all the city has to offer.”

We WILL get all kinds of new diverse characters making their way into the New York world of Sex and the City, and I can’t wait to meet them.
Afterall, it’s a BIG city, AMIRITE?!?
Be on the lookout for the new Sex and the City on HBO Max somtime in 2021.
