Bauducco put SKIPPY peanut butter inside a chocolate holiday loaf. This is the sort of holiday planning we can get behind.

The new SKIPPY Peanut Butter Chocottone combines Bauducco’s airy chocolate loaf with real SKIPPY peanut butter filling and a chocolate coating, according to the brands’ October 6 announcement.

Peanut butter is doing the heavy lifting

The filling is what makes this one interesting. If a classic holiday loaf has never been your first choice at the dessert table, chocolate and peanut butter give this version a very different reason to be there.

Bauducco also announced a Pistachio Chocottone. That’s a separate flavor, rather than an extra filling in the SKIPPY version.

The U.S. rollout starts in October

The announcement says the new loaves are rolling out to major U.S. grocery retailers in October. It does not give a single nationwide price or promise every store will have them at once.

Check Bauducco and your local retailer for the exact package, price and availability. The SKIPPY version contains peanut butter, so this is one to keep clearly identified on a shared dessert table.

Fruitcake can have its loyal fans. There’s room for a peanut butter loaf, too.
