For the 3rd year in a row, the Skittles Pride packs are hitting stores.

The candies were created to support and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community.

Skittles

These have appeared in Canada, Germany, and the United Kingdom in previous years, but now they are taking the United States by storm!

The Pride version skittles has gray candies with a white S on them. Yes, all of the color has been stripped from them.

However, this year will feature a “splash of color” thanks to six talented artists within the LGBTQ+ community (including Richmond based duo Ash  Chess) who crafted original pack designs that represent how they “see the rainbow” each and every day.

You won’t be able to tell which flavors are which, but the gray candies do come in those five original flavors: strawberry, orange, lemon, green apple, and grape.

It’s basically a mystery with every bite.

The idea of stripping the colors is that Skittles is giving up its rainbow to show that only #OneRainbow matters.

For the third year in a row, $1 of every Pride pack purchase will help to support GLAAD‘s culture-changing work and programs to accelerate acceptance and combat anti-LGBTQ+ discrimination.

These limited-edition Skittles Pride packs should start popping up in Walmart (including its website) and CVS nationally this week.

The limited-edition Pride packs will be available to purchase in 4oz Share Size Packs and 15.6oz Sharing Size Stand Up Pouches at select retailers nationwide from May – June.

“GLAAD is proud to continue our ongoing partnership with SKITTLES in its efforts to celebrate, support and increase visibility for the LGBTQ community,” said John McCourt, Deputy Vice President, Strategic Partnerships at GLAAD. “We hope the artists’ stories that SKITTLES shares inspire our community and our allies. Amplifying LGBTQ art and artists helps further GLAAD’s mission to accelerate acceptance.”

I cannot wait to get my hands on some!!

  1. Ok but why make it white ,im truly disgusted that they use the name white for everything but they change everything that’s labeled “black” or “rainbow “ this is absolutely disgusting, white people matter and if so ,i say this is racist

    1. Because we’re talking about race right now smh

    2. @Roseslove, dude they are gray.. stop with the racist crap already, it’s getting really really old.

  2. Oh yea, that hurt my feelings, you Hetro!
    Fool

    Hahahahahahahahahahaaa

  3. Carlos A. Rodríguez @Carlos HappyNPO
said it better than I can.

“I see no color” is not the goal.

“I see your color and I honor you. I value your input. I will be educated about your lived experiences. I will

work against the racism that harms

you. You are beautiful. Tell me how to

    do better.”

    … That’s the goal.

    1. They may not be his original words but something he reposted.

  4. Actually only in lighting when you add all colors you get white, when you add all colors in pigmentation paint etc you get black or a really dark brown as it takes perfect proportions of all colors to get black. I thought this was good but it kind of sends a mixed message being that they are not showing their rainbow.

    1. @Drake, and apparently you love drama but you can’t even get that right…

  5. I love the idea and will buy to support. However, I eat Skittles individually or together based on the flavors of the different colors . So while I would buy one pack in support, I would probably throw it away and wait until the colors are back so that I know what I am eating.

      1. It’s a fair comment though. I don’t like the purple ones but it’s not gonna stop my from buying a pack…

    1. @Julie N., The why not just donate the dollar that Skilttles is instead

  6. Why do people feel the need to bring their sky fairies into every discussion? Buy a real blanket. Jesus would have a lot to say to all the haters, none of it would be.

  7. Ummm do fon’t you like to eat the same flavors together, or mix certain flavors…how is that possible here or do they all taste like cold dark shapeless apathy and nihilism?

  8. The first thing I thought ‘White Pride’. I like our rainbow flag. There is a reason why we have it. I would rather have that than white skittles. ?️‍?

    1. It clearly says only white matters. A poorly conceived idea.

      1. Bruh its candy ,why is everyone worrying about the colour and how its “excluding “ other coloured people wtf, the world have gone insane, ITS CANDY JUST EAT IT AND SHUT UP

      1. Look at the color in hand…..its clearly white ?

    2. I was thinking the same thing. I thought the purpose of the Rainbow was that everyone is different (colors) but together it makes one beautiful statement. When I first saw the white Skittles and the slogan said we are all one color, immediately I thought, we are all white? So I had to read the article. I like the Rainbow Pride. #nowhiteskittlesforme

      1. That’s the point. Skittles (whose slogan is Taste the Rainbow) is saying the rainbow is so important to the LGBTQ+ community that during Pride, it doesn’t belong to us, it belongs to the Pride movement. I think it’s an outstanding gesture although I am hoping the actual Skittles are more gray than white.

      2. @Josh, too bad the rainbow doesn’t belong to anyone lol

    3. And we are all grateful it reminds us of God’s promise not to flood the world and wipe out mankind again. Every time we thank God whenever we see a rainbow. Thanks for reminding us.

    4. @Linda, if you “had to read the article” then you also read that the are GREY.

    1. My feelings are hurt now… oh wait wait wait… nah I’m good ??????

    2. Oh yea, that hurt my feelings, you Hetro!
      Fool

      Hahahahahahahahahahaaa

  9. wow, how stupid can you be? Talk about virtue signalling gone berserk. So laughable..

  10. White Pride Skittles. I did Nazi that coming.

    1. Oh shut up.. when you remove the color from something what do you get? White. It was only logical, not racist. They were simply trying to support LGBTQ.

      1. YOU ARE AN IDIOT SAYS..
Actually, when you ADD all the colors on the visible spectrum, you get WHITE. I know it’s probably hard for your tiny brain to compute, but it’s true.

      2. It depends. When you mix colors in pigmentation like paints etc the primary colors are Red Blue And Yellow mixing each in different proportions creates all the other colors and when mixed all together in the right proportions you get black. In lighting the Primary colors are Red Blue And Green hence RGB when you mix Red Blue And Green lights you can create any color in between and when combined fully you get white. I do think removing the colors and saying that during pride month only one rainbow matters sounds like a great gesture but it also can read as we’re removing it because we don;t like rainbows now if it’s going to be like that. But since they said exactly what they mean, then that is the meaning and not white pride or anything else. It was a good idea but maybe was not thought all the way through. So now maybe people may use these in their own campaigns of hatred instead., but that was not their intention. – http://www.djemir.com

    2. FTW… anyone who can use “Nazi” in a punny comment wins the internet today.

      1. Just so you know, skittles doesnt use all the colors in their candy. Combining all of them would not get black.

      2. Actually no. The color white occurs when all colors of the visible spectrum are reflected off of the pigments in an object. Black occurs when all of the light is absorbed. White is the complete lack of color.

      3. @Ky, actually no. White and black are not colors, they are shades. White is considered the presence of all colors like you tried to explain in your comment and black is considered the absence of all color. You tried but failed. If skittles or you, actually wanted to try and exclude all colors of the rainbow, they would make them the shade of black

    3. @Helmund Skittelfresser you win the internet! ?? BEST. COMMENT. EVER!

  11. Yay! My son is allergic to dyes. He can eat Skittles for a short time. I better stock up.

    1. Now that is the only useful reason I have heard, so far!

  12. Hopefully they will be available in Indiana. Though, it said the five original flavors…green originally was Lime not Green Apple. But, I hope they make them available in more rural areas.

    1. THANK YOU!! Oh I was going to say the same thing. And I was also going to add that I wish it could be that way again! The lime flavor was DELICIOUS! Green Apple is just yuck. Lol

    2. “Original” meaning the regular red pack as opposed to the tropical or berry or whatever. If they were going to go back to lime they’d be hyping that as it’s own marketing push.

    3. I hope not, it’s useless and wasteful. Why make colorless candy to support pride? And people are making nazi comments about them literally being white NOT gray.

  13. Just sell your lollies and stop worrying about pride ,etc

    1. Exactly! This is just a cheap marketing ploy ?, and “‘social’ warriors” are buying into it hook, line, and sinker! ?

      Well played, Skittles . . . well played . . .. ???????
