I’ve been so excited to see the new Disney Pixar movie Soul but as with everything this year, it sort of got put on the back burner with no release date in sight, until now…

Disney and Pixar are releasing Soul straight to Disney+ instead of theaters and it’s sooner than you’d think!

“We are thrilled to share Pixar’s spectacular and moving Soul with audiences direct to Disney+ in December. A new original Pixar film is always a special occasion, and this truly heartwarming and humorous story about human connection and finding one’s place in the world will be a treat for families to enjoy together this holiday season.”

Bob Chapek, Chief Executive Officer, The Walt Disney Company, said in a statement.

Yep you read that right, it will be released this December on Christmas Day to be exact!

“The world can be an exhausting and frustrating place – but it’s also full of unexpected joys, even in seemingly mundane things. Soul investigates what’s really important in our lives, a question we’re all asking these days. I hope it will bring some humor and fun to people at a time when everyone can surely use that.”

Docter, director of Soul and Chief Creative Officer of Pixar Animation Studios, added

Now you might be wondering if this is something you’ll have to pay for like Mulan, right? Well, reports are saying that this will actually be included for free along with your Disney+ subscription so that is amazing news!

I am so excited to see this and I am happy my family and I can safely enjoy it at home this holiday season.
