Starbucks Pink Dragon Drink Is Here Just In Time for Summer
Starbucks is not new to the Instagram-worthy drink game. They constantly come out with drinks that are either bright, like their 2017 limited edition Unicorn Frappuccino, seen below …
… or dramatic in their espresso design, like their main staple the Caramel Macchiato, the “upside down” espresso drink shown over ice below.
They have done it again with their new Dragon Drink. Can I get a, “HELLO SUMMER!!”

There are actually TWO dragonfruit drinks being added to the Starbucks permanent menu.
The Mango Dragonfruit Starbucks Refreshers® Beverage combines mango juice concentrate, green coffee extract, and freeze-dried dragonfruit pieces. The Dragon Drink (or Pink Dragon Drink as some are calling it) has coconut milk hand-shaken into the mixture.
The taste of these drinks is very similar to the Tiazzi Mango Smoothies, which were carried by Starbucks back in the early 2000’s. That is to be expected, because both drinks use a mango juice concentrate base.

Both Dragon Drinks contain green coffee extract, so they DO contain caffeine. This get’s a resounding HALLELUJAH from mom’s everywhere.
This Dragon Drink is NOT to be confused with the “Pink Drink,” which has been on the Starbucks “secret menu” for years.
The “Pink Drink” contains Strawberry Acai Refresher, and is made with coconut milk instead of water. It has scoops of strawberries or blackberries. It is similar to the Dragon Drink, but not the same. One tastes like strawberry acai, and the other tastes like mangoes and dragonfruit.
Thank you, Starbucks, for this refreshing Instagram-worthy pink goodness! Summer can now commence.
