Here’s How To Order The Sweet And Savory Sausage McMuffin Off The McDonald’s Secret Menu
You can get a Sweet and Savory Sausage McMuffin off the McDonald’s Secret Menu. Once you try it, you will never go back to a plain McMuffin again!
I hate to say it, but I’m not usually a fan of the Golden Arches. There is a bit of a special condition to that statement: I’m not usually a fan of McDonald’s EXCEPT at breakfast time.
The McDonald’s breakfast menu is the exception to that rule. They don’t really have a bad breakfast item, as far as fast-food restaurants go.
It is so much fun (not to mention satisfying) to delve into the world of the McDonald’s Secret Menu, where they have things like This Loaded Sausage Breakfast Burrito. YUM!!
But, just WAIT until you try this Sweet and Savory Sausage McMuffin. OMG, it is a game changer.
What Is The Sweet And Savory Sausage McMuffin Off The McDonald’s Secret Menu?
The Sweet and Savory Sausage McMuffin takes the tired ol’ Sausage and Cheese McMuffin, and turns it into a breakfast feast that is both parts delicious and filling.
It is truly a meal in a sandwich! It takes the Sausage and Cheese McMuffin, adds in those addicting McDonald’s hash browns, and smothers it in sweet, delicious grape jam.
How Do You Order The Sweet And Savory Sausage McMuffin Off The McDonald’s Secret Menu?
You can’t just pull into your favorite McDonald’s drive thru, and ask for a Sweet and Savory Sausage McMuffin. They will have no earthly idea what you are talking about.
When you go up to the drive thru (or into the store, if that’s how you roll) you have to tell them exactly what you are wanting.
We all know that McDonald’s isn’t the best place in the world as far as getting what you ask for, so be specific.
You have to ask for EXACTLY:
- A Sausage and Cheese McMuffin Meal (your choice of drink)
- 2 Packets of Grape Jelly
- You can get whatever drink you like. That doesn’t affect the outcome of the sandwich.
That’s it. You don’t have to ask for them to add anything or to take anything off. Just a Sausage and Cheese McMuffin Meal and 2 packets of grape jelly.
When you get to the window CHECK YOUR BAG. Make sure the hash brown and grape jelly are in there. I have gone through the line, gotten home, and realized they didn’t put either the hash brown or the grape jelly in the bag. It kinda ruins the whole thing.
How Do You Put Together The Sweet And Savory Sausage McMuffin Off The McDonald’s Secret Menu?
This part is SUPER simple. You don’t even have to get out of your car — but make sure you are parked.
You unwrap the Sausage and Cheese McMuffin, and open it up — hopefully it is nice and hot.
Now, you tear your hash brown in half — no fancy cutting with a knife. Must rip that baby in two.
Place half of your hash brown on top of the sausage. I don’t care what you do with the other half of the hash brown. Gobble it up, or save it for later.
Here’s where it gets good. Squeeze the packets of grape jelly onto the plain muffin side of the open Sausage McMuffin. Don’t put just a little bit of grape jelly on there. You have to be able to taste it, so go ahead and heap it up.
OMG. Doesn’t that just look divine?
Now, you just put the plain muffin side onto the side of the sandwich with the sausage.
THAT’S IT!! You have a Sweet and Savory Sausage McMuffin Sandwich.
The best part of the whole thing is the 1.2 seconds of anticipation as you are bringing the Sweet and Savory Sausage McMuffin to your mouth! You just KNOW it is going to be good.
When you bite into the Sweet and Savory Sausage McMuffin, you will immediately taste and sense the sweet jelly on your taste buds.
That sweetness will be followed by a whoosh of savory from the cheese and sausage.
The potato adds a layer of sophistication that you wouldn’t expect from a plain Sausage McMuffin.
It’s delicious, right?!?
Can You Make The Sweet And Savory Sausage McMuffin Even Better?
Well, the Sweet and Savory Sausage McMuffin is pretty freakin’ awesome on its own, but you can make an addition if you desire.
You can ask for egg on the Sausage and Cheese McMuffin. The meal actually comes with the egg included, I just don’t prefer it.
The protein from the egg adds a hearty layer to the sandwich, an extra “Oomph” that you may want to include in your Sweet and Savory Sausage McMuffin.
You would make the sandwich exactly the same — just include the egg.
Be forewarned, the grape jelly can make sort of a green color on the egg. This is normal, and no cause for alarm. LOL!
