Duo has apparently picked up a restaurant shift. Taco Bell and Duolingo are teaming up for October 6, with a new habanero sauce and a plush owl dressed for work.
The sauce is the easy part. Getting the tiny employee requires a little luck.
How to get Duo Habanero Sauce
According to Taco Bell’s announcement, participating U.S. restaurants will have Duo Habanero starting October 6, while supplies last. Buy a Doritos Locos Taco and get one packet free; additional packets are $0.20 each. Prices and participation vary, and tax is extra.
The packets feature sayings in nine languages. Taco Bell describes the sauce as tangy, fruity and spicy.
Check your restaurant before making a special trip. This is a useful add-on if you were already planning a taco run; the packet alone doesn’t need to become a whole expedition.
The Duo plush is a sweepstakes
The campaign has 1,000 plushies worldwide, but the U.S. sweepstakes has 500 prizes. Entry runs October 6 from 2–3 p.m. Pacific through Tuesday Drops.
It’s for Taco Bell Rewards members who are legal residents of the 50 states or D.C., age 16 or older, with a web-enabled mobile device. Minors need parental permission. There’s a one-entry limit and no purchase required.
So set your reminder for the entry window, rather than ordering extra tacos in hopes of improving your chances.
New Yorkers also get a Duo appearance at the Midtown Cantina, 976 Sixth Avenue, October 6 from 3–4:30 p.m. Eastern.
